Neurofeedback addresses problems of brain dysregulation.
BrainPaint® neurofeedback utilizes Infra-low frequency training HD.
Neurofeedback helps with symptoms from the following issues:
Neurofeedback is direct training of brain function. Electrodes are placed on different quadrants on the scalp and ears to listen in on brainwave activity. The brain learns to function more efficiently while watching colors on a screen. The signal is processed through the computer. It is a gradual learning process for your brain while it regulates. Neurofeedback is also called EEG Biofeedback. It is based on electrical brain activity, the electroencephalogram, or EEG. Neurofeedback does not hurt. It can be used on an elementary school age child if they can communicate clearly when the Neurofeedback clinician is checking in with them during the session.
It is optimal to receive brain training at least twice a week consistently over a 20-session period.
What is the length of the session?
The first session is the intake session with assessment questions to create your individualized protocol, which typically runs a session and a half. The one-hour sessions to follow, include the brain training session and a mini-assessment to individualize the protocol as progress is made.
What happens during session?
Sensors are clipped onto your ear and the other sensors are placed on your head where the protocol indicates. The placement of these sensors could be changed up to three times during the session. The sensors pick up on the activity coming from your brainwaves. If you are doing an eyes-open training, you click on the mouse when you see blue on the screen. If you are doing an eyes-closed training, you are listening to the BrainPaint® program.
Is Neurofeedback planting information into my brain?
NO! The sensors are picking up on the activity coming from your brain. Nothing is going into your brain. The activity from your brainwaves make fractal images on the BrainPaint® program.
Are my eyes open or closed during session?
Both, depending on which brain training protocol we are using. Alpha-Theta is always done with eyes closed, so you are solely listening to the training. Eyes open brain training is both visual and auditory.
How many times can I do neurofeedback in a week?
There is a minimum commitment of twice a week for 20-sessions of neurofeedback as the first and often last set of sessions people need. Neurofeedback can be done multiple times a day with an hour in-between each session. People can choose to do multiple sessions in a week or do it every other hour for intensives. It's up to the individual.
Can I drink alcohol or take other drugs before session?
For the efficacy of the training and safety of the practitioner, please do not come in for brain training under the influence.
